Is DJC Entertainment a full-time or part-time company?
This is our full-time business. We have been providing outstanding service, music, and entertainment to our clients since 1994. When choosing a DJ for your reception, be very cautious of companies that employee part-time weekend “contract” DJ’s. There are services that will send a person you’ve never met from a pool of part time employees to your reception. We believe that this is a major mistake. The planning that you and your DJ are mutually involved with, along with the attention to detail that can only come from this client / DJ relationship, are vitally important to insure a smooth running reception. The DJC Entertainment DJ that you meet and work with from the beginning, will be the DJ at your reception. No matter what DJ service you choose, insist on this, it is very important.
What type of sound equipment do you use?
All of our sound equipment is manufactured by high-end pro audio manufacturers, designed by sound engineers, and chosen for reliability and high sound quality. High-end quality equipment rarely fails, however unlike many services, we make the additional investment of back-up components integrated into our systems. These back up components insure that no matter what might possibly fail, we have a back up on hand, so that your event will go perfectly. What kind of lighting effects do you use?
We have a variety of professional intelligent computer controlled lighting effects, stage lighting effects, club lighting effects, and lasers, which we carefully coordinate to your specific reception needs. Our incredible lighting effects add an element of excitement and energy. Fog effects are included with all lighting packages, unless prohibited by the venue or not desired by you.
How will a light show enhance my event?
We have found that a good light show will help draw a crowd to the dance floor. We suggest using lighting effects for the same reason that nightclubs use them, to make the dance floor warm and inviting and bring a higher level of excitement and interaction to your reception.
What kinds of music do you have?
Our extensive library of over 80,000 titles spans seven decades and covers all genres, from the classic hits to what is hot right now, we have it!
Will you act as a Master of Ceremonies for my reception?
In addition to playing music, your DJ will act as master of ceremonies. Before your event, your DJ will work closely with you to plan the event, and will act as the master of ceremonies during the event. Our job is to make the music and entertainment for your reception absolutely perfect. We will gladly handle any announcements and pride ourselves in our ability to keep your event organized and running smoothly.
Does my DJ take requests?
ABSOLUTELY! We bring our entire library every time and will gladly play appropriate requests. Sometimes a guest may request an inappropriate title or one that is sure to clear the dance floor, these will not be played. We are experts and know what music will work, and what will not.
Will the music be appropriate for all ages?
YES*. We know the music, we know what is appropriate for your reception, and the only music that will be played is what is appropriate for that specific event. *We have an extensive library of popular music, including titles with lyrics and content that may or may not be appropriate, depending on your musical taste and that of those at your reception. Nothing inappropriate for you or your guests will ever be played.
Can you play music that we provide?
Yes. Our equipment flexibility allows us to play your music in any common audio format. Please discuss your specific needs with your DJ prior to the event.
How will you be dressed?
The only acceptable attire for a DJ at a Wedding Reception is formal wear, which is how your DJ will be dressed.
Do you provide guest participation games and activities?
Yes! We have a variety of fun (never embarrassing) guest participation games and other activities that will have everyone getting involved. Some couples choose not to have wedding games at their reception, most do, it is your reception and we will make it exactly how you wish.
Will I have a written contract?
Yes. You would never purchase any important item without a contract or guarantee. If your DJ is not willing to provide you with a written commitment, there must be a reason. DJC Entertainment is fully licensed, insured, and will always provide you with a written contract.
How much are your rates?

If one of these packages does not fit your needs, we can accommodate your wishes and put together a package that will. We will never try to up-sell you to something you don't need or want, and the price we provide includes everything. Our clients generally tell us that we are among the most affordable rates that they have received, and that we offer more for that rate.
I found another service that quoted me a cheaper rate than you?
Please beware, if a deal sounds too good to be true it probably is. We have heard countless horror stories of inexperienced DJs with sub-standard equipment and music ruining an event, not having the music the guests want, boring the guests, and not having the experience to make the event a success. One of the most talked about aspects of your reception will be the great time your guests had (or did not have…) Anything less than an experienced professional DJ with professional high quality sound equipment is asking for trouble. There are many DJ services that do not have full time employees and instead contract part-time DJ's that do it on weekends as an extra job. There are certainly some good DJ's out there that do receptions as a second job on weekends, however there are certainly a lot more who are not.
A good DJ is much more than someone who shows up with some speakers and plays some music, a good DJ is an entertainer who works with you to put together your perfect reception. A good DJ will “read” your guests to know what to play, what to do, and when to play or do it, so that your event attendees have the best time. With DJ services that use part-time contracted DJs, you may not meet your DJ until the day of your event. This is a very bad idea, there are many important details that need to be discussed and planned with your DJ well before your reception.

What are my payment options?
We have flexible payment options. You may pay by credit card via PayPal, cash, check, or money order.
Do you require a deposit and when is it due?
We require a deposit of 25% of the contract price to book and lock your event date. Because dates are subject to availability, we suggest that the contract and deposit be sent to us as soon as you have determined the date of your reception and confirmed our availability for your date.
Are there any extra fees on top of my quoted price?
No, never! Your quoted price is the total price and includes everything. When comparing rates, make sure that this is also true with whoever you are comparing our rates with.
